Do We Ever REALLY Get Closure?
Do We Ever REALLY Get Closure?

When a breakup is unexpected or maybe its been expected for a while but it still hurts when it happens....we all seek closure.  But is "closure" truely possible?  I am starting to believe it isn't.  We seek certain "band-aids" in order to heal our wounds. Converstaions, answers to questions, last chats, our belongings, etc...but none of these things provide closure.  They just put a band aid to your feelings.  I think in order to seek that optimal goal of "closure" we need to be ok with what has happened.  Believing that this was supposed to happen, and discover what we can learn from this situation.  These learnings will help us grow, and become a better person, in turn, knowing what we want, and realizing what we deserve. Perhaps, eventually over a long period of time closure eventually takes place. But i do not think it is possible within the first days, weeks or months of the relationship ending. Just my thoughts...what do you think?!?

I think that closure comes with a lot of time. We may eventually get the answers we need, but it doesn't immediately allow us to fully close that chapter of our lives. I agree that we need to be okay with and that it was supposed to happened. It is just so hard to get to that point of acceptance.

I think closure comes with perspective. I firmly believe that, like you said, when we learn from a relationship and understand it, then you do get some kind of closure. But closure is different for everyone too.
